We have had quite an active week this week. Along with our usual 2 PE sessions, I have noticed children out and about on the field engaging in active learning.
We have had our local sports partnership ‘Take Pride’ in school doing multi-skills with FS, as well as a Dance tutor delivering model lessons to teachers, so they can develop their skills and knowledge.
We all know how important it is for children to be active; and this was reiterated again this week when the results of the height and weight checks, from school nursing, landed on my desk. Unfortunately the percentage of children recorded as overweight/ obese at our school is 29%; above the National Average (22%) and Kent (23%).
So whilst the weather this Bank holiday is not expected to be so warm, I guess it would benefit us all to wrap up and get out and about this weekend, to ensure we all stay as healthy as we can be. Have a great Bank Holiday – see you back on Tuesday 7th May.
